BARC Calendar

January 2008

• Jan 10 (Thu) — BARC Board Meeting at 7:30 PM, held at Lansky's in Twin Creek Plaza, open to the membership.  More info here.
• Jan 17 (Thu) — BARC General Membership Meeting at 7:30 PM.  This month's meeting will be at the Sarpy County courthouse and will include a tour of the Emergency Operations Center.  Open to anyone interested in amateur radio.  Business meeting will be followed by a presentation related to amateur radio.  We will meet at the main entrance of the Hall of Justice (east building, brick facade, large arch at the entrance) between 7:00 and 7:30 PM for escorted entry.  Do not be late as you will not be able to enter after that.
• Jan 19 (Sat) — HAMFEST — Northwest Missouri Winter Hamfest at the Ramada Inn, 4016 Frederick Avenue, St. Joseph, MO. For more info go to http://www.nwmohamfest.org/.  This is one of the best hamfests that occurs within an acceptable driving distance of our area.  It's a straight shot down (south) I-29 to exit 47 (in Missouri).  Be sure to check 146.52 simplex and 146.48 simplex for familiar BARC member call signs, if you want to chat as you drive.
• Jan 26 (Sat) — TRAINING — NCS Training, 10:00AM – 12 Noon in the Salvation Army meeting room (2nd floor), 3612 Cummings, Omaha, NE.  This is great training for any ham radio operator that has an interest in performing duties as a Net Control Station.  And it’s a good refresher for those who already are an NCS.  For more information contact Terry.lindsley@pottcounty.com or W9HZC@cox.net.
