NE. There will be meetings, forums, commercial venders, room displays,

May 5 (Mon) — Quarterly ARES Planning Meeting for Pottawattamie
County at 7:00 PM at Pottawattamie County Courthouse (EOC). This
meeting is open to anyone; especially ARES members. Talk-in required
on 147.495 MHz simplex or call 712-328-5779 to get in the building.

- May 8 (Thu) — BARC Board Meeting at 7:30 PM, meeting at Lansky's
in the Twin Creek shopping area near 36th Street and Highway 370. Open to the membership. More info here.
- May 15 (Thu) — Dinner at 6:00 PM, held at the
Masonic Hall in Bellevue. Menu includes brisket, baked potato with
sour cream, vegetable, salad, bread, coffee and iced tea, and dessert for
$8.00 per person, $4.00 for children ages 12 and under. Please send your
reservation to dinner2008@bellevuearc.org
before May 10th
so we have an accurate headcount.
- May 15 (Thu) — BARC General Membership Meeting at 7:30 PM, held
at the Masonic Hall in Bellevue. Open to anyone interested in amateur
radio. Business meeting will be followed by a presentation related to
amateur radio. More info here.
This will also be our quarterly birthday celebration and there will be cake
or cookies during the break.

PUBSVC
— Nebraska State High School Track Meet, at Burke High in Omaha.
We will be on hand to use our radio skills to help the officials and
athletes in case of emergencies or any other communications help that they
might need. Events start at around 8:30 AM and run through the day.

- May 17 (Sat) —
PUBSVC
— Annual Celebrate Council Bluffs Parade. Report to the staging
area (the corner of 9th Avenue and Main Street) at 8:30 AM. 2 meter
handheld radios with backup battery and headphone are preferred.
Talk-in on the 146.82 repeater. Event includes staging area activities
and the eventual parade. It should conclude around Noon. For

- May 26 (Mon) — Memorial Day Holiday. Flag flies at
half-staff until noon.
- May 31 (Sat) — Second Annual All Communicators Picnic, at Halleck Park in Papillion. More info to follow. Open to all
area amateur radio operators, REACT, CERT and other community support
organizations.
