TRAINING
— Technician License Class (part 1) from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, held
at the McArdle Suite at Midlands Hospital. More information is

- May 2 (Sat) — Safety Expo. Douglas County ARES will
participate in the expo to be held at Westroads Mall. The display will
be outside and include VHF, UHF, HF and some digital stations set up to
demonstrate the capabilities of ARES and RACES. Contact

help with the demonstrations.

HAMFEST — Ashland Annual Swap
Meet from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Saunders County Fairgrounds in Wahoo, NE

- May 9 (Sat) —
TRAINING

- May 14 (Thu) — BARC Board Meeting at 7:30 PM, meeting at Lansky's
in the Twin Creek shopping area near 36th Street and Highway 370. Open to the membership. More info

- May 16 (Sat)— FCC license testing. Testing starts at 1:00 PM at
Midlands Hospital in the Smith and McArdle Suites. More information is

- May 21 (Thu) — BARC General Membership Meeting at 7:30 PM, held
at the Masonic Hall in Bellevue. Open to anyone interested in amateur
radio. Business meeting will be followed by a presentation by Kelly
Flint,
NM7H, entitled "Qatar Being the DX". More info

This will also be our quarterly birthday celebration and there will be cake
or cookies during the break.
- May 15-17 (Fri-Sun) —
HAMFEST — Dayton Hamvention. More info

- May 22-23 (Fri-Sat) —
PUBSVC
— Nebraska State High School Track Meet, at Burke High in Omaha.
We will be on hand to use our radio skills to help the officials and
athletes in case of emergencies or any other communications help that they
might need. Events start at around 8:30 AM and run through the day.

- May 25 (Mon) — Memorial Day Holiday. Flag flies at
half-staff until noon.
- May 30-31 (Sat-Sun) —
PUBSVC
— MS Bike Ride. BARC provides communications and safety support
to the Multiple Sclerosis Society's bike ride. This ride covers two
days and a lot of miles and will need several volunteers.
