NOTE:  Not all events appearing on the BARC calendar are organized by or endorsed by the Bellevue Amateur Radio Club.  Non-club events may be included here to help de-conflict the calendar.  If you have any questions about non-BARC events or activities, you should contact the sponsoring organization.  Events where BARC is the primary coordinator for communications support are denoted using the This is a BARC sanctioned or sponsored event symbol.

General guidance about calendar postings to the BARC calendar:

  1. Post all BARC sponsored events, e.g., meetings, dinners, picnics, classes, VE sessions, our Field Day, etc.

  2. Post all events where BARC has a presence and may need volunteers, e.g., Preparedness Fair.

  3. Post all hamfests and flea markets within 150 mile radius, regardless of sponsoring organization.  The exception to this rule is to include Dayton.

  4. Post all Public Service events in the metro area where BARC members might be reasonably inclined to participate regardless of the sponsoring organization, e.g., bike rides, walks, parades, etc.

  5. Post all ARRL sanctioned events within the area, e.g., state conventions such as the Nebraska state convention in South Sioux City.

  6. Post all local training opportunities that would better prepare ham radio operators for disaster operations regardless of the sponsoring organization, e.g., SKYWARN, OMMRS training, net control training, CERT training, Red Cross Disaster Assessment training.

Questions about the guidelines should be sent to the webmaster.
